Heads up Ottawa soccer fans: our Ottawa Fury FC returns to the pitch tomorrow for their first home game of the season! And a big game it is: their home opener, their first home game in their new league (the USL), and they're facing off against Toronto FC 2 in the battle of Ontario!
I wasn't much of a sports fan til a couple of years ago, but as a downtown-dweller I was super pumped when TD Place opened and suddenly professional sports (and tons of of great concerts) returned to the core.
Hubby and I have been to more Fury FC games than I can count and here's why we love going:
Tickets are super affordable: most seats are under $40 and kids enrolled in any soccer league get in free! Yup, free!
Fury FC fans are amazing: the supporters section is WILD. They sing, drum, and cheer through the whole match, and really get the crowd going.
It's a pretty awesome community: we've actually gotten to know a few people who sit in our section, there are tons of free activities for families and kids, and the crowd is extremely welcoming.
It's easy to get to the game: if you live centrally, it's easy to walk, bike, or bus to the game. Leave your car at home! Hope on the pathways along the canal, or hop on the bus and show your game ticket to ride for free.
Another solid reason to head to a Fury game? CRAFT BEER. Yup, earlier today OSEG announced that Big Rig Brewery is now the official craft beer partner at TD Place. That means can get your hands on a locally crafted brewsky whether you're at a Fury match, a 67s or Redblacks game, or even a concert.
GOOD BEER FOR EVERYONE!!!
