I've been a fan of Purple Urchin for years now. I think I first met them back in 2011 when I was helping out at Urban Craft, and they had just launched their company with their unofficial HQ in their basement. Now they have their very own shop in downtown Ottawa and you can find them at nearly 50 retailers across Ontario, including Whole Foods. Whoa.
The gals recently sent me some of their newest products to try and I was thrilled to get started. Because if you follow me on Instagram you know I love me some bath products, right? Let's get to it!
This bath cube smells like a summer cocktail and had me dreaming of warm nights on the patio. All of Purple Urchin's bath cubes are made with baking soda and citric acid for super fizzing power, and Epsom salts will soothe muscles (perfect for my tired runners legs) and olive oil will make your skin super soft.
The house I grew up in was surrounded by lilacs (I think we had nearly 100 bushes on our property), and to this day a sniff of that scent reminds me of springtime. So I was over the moon when I saw Purple Urchin's new lilac bath soak! Made with dead sea salt, baking soda, and lilac perfume, it's spring in a bottle.
I obsess over anything lime scented or flavoured and this might have been my favourite of the bunch. The fresh and uplifting Limeade scent is zingy and energizing, and totally perked me up after a busy day. Even better with a glass of Riesling! ;)
Woohoo! The same scene I loved as a bath cube is also available as a candle. Purple Urchin uses soy wax made from biodegradable, non-GMO soybeans, and soy wax burns longer, cooler, and cleaner than other waxes, creating less soot. I love this small version in the tin because it's perfect for travel: throw it in your suitcase et voilà: instant ambiance wherever you're staying.
This nourishing hand balm smells like a lemon meringue pie and sooths dry chapped hands with macadamia, olive oil, coconut oil, and more. I've been using it on my feet too - great for cracked heels. A little goes a long way! Smooth some on to hands and feet before bed so it can soak in all night.
