This one's gonna be short but sweet, because words simply won't do justice to this gal.
This Saturday one of my favourite people in the whole wide world, Josephine Masterson, is realizing a big dream and becoming her very own ladyboss. You probably already know her as Little Jo Berry, baking beauty and former shop manager at Auntie Loo's Treats, and gal-about-town with her two adorable pups.
She's got the fiercest lipstick game you've ever seen and has a heart the size of this city. I adore her.
When Auntie Loo's Treats closed abrubtly last June, Little Jo got to thinking about what to do next. And she decided she absolutely wanted to open a spot of her own. Over the past many months I've seen her work tirelessly (and because she's Jo, cheerfully) to bring every piece of this daunting puzzle together. And goddammit, she's done it.
This weekend Jo is opening a charming vegan café in the heart of Welly West: Little Jo Berry's Coffee & Eats. They'll throw the doors open at 10am and work straight through til 7pm (#ballsohard, eh girl? :) to feed and caffeinate all you folks. Expect top-notch lattes, Harvey & Vern's Old Fashioned Soda, Renew Cold Press juices (free samples from 11:30-12:00!), tasty lunches, and of course, Little Jo's exceptionally delicious treats.
