Wanna hear somethin' amazing? My pal Dan is going to be on CBC's Dragons' Den this Wednesday. Yup.
Originally from Almonte and now living in west Ottawa, Dan left his government job a few years ago to become an entrepreneur. And he's never looked back. More power to you, buddy! This is Dan:
He's the guy behind those fantastic Versatile coasters you can find throughout Ottawa and beyond (I have two sets and always want more), and he's been hard at work on new products to pitch to the dragons.
And his new stuff is pretty amazeballs. No, for real, they're amazeballs.
Dan created these totally smooth (and food safe) stainless steel balls to keep your whiskey, bourbon, and pretty much anything else cold without turning your drink into a melty, waterlogged mess. Smart, eh? With two times the chilling power of square drink stones, his Amazeballs will keep your drink colder, longer.
How do they work? Toss your Amazeballs into the freezer for at least four hours then use them to keep 2-3 ounces of room temperature liquid (that's your bourbon!) cool for up to 45 minutes. And when you're done, just rinse with warm water, pat dry, and toss 'em back in the freezer.
Dan did such a good job with these that plenty of folks took note, including Chapters|Indigo, Winners, Marshalls, and Urban Outfitters. How frigging awesome is that?! It's so unbelieveably cool to walk through such a big store and see something your friend made. If you're a cocktail drinker you *must* get some!
They were such a big hit that Dan started thinking about how he could use the same concept to keep other drinks cold, like say a bottle of your favourite brewski. So he came up with Amazerods! Honestly, I don't know how he thinks of this stuff. But I'm so glad he does.
Chapters loved these too and snatched some up almost right away. With the warmer days of spring (and dare I say, summer) on the way (okay, eventually), I can hardly wait to get myself some Amazerods. They'll keep my Kichesippi Blonde nice and cold!
These are the only in-bottle beer or soda chiller I've ever seen. All you need to do is freeze 'em then slip it into any standard bottle, whether you're drinking suds or soda.
Clearly Dan is on to something and he's founded a company called Amazebrand where he can keep on thinking up cool stuff (pardon the pun).
Well, the dragons took note of all his efforts so he'll be on CBC's Dragons' Den this Wednesday March 16th at 8:00pm! Be sure to tune in, 'kay? Here's a teaser to get you hooked! Dan's even grabbed the attention of Marketing Magazine so my fingers are crossed that it's a sign of what's to come with the dragons.
Now, you guys know how much I love giveaways, right?
