Hi all! I left the snowy 613 early on Sunday morning for the dry, cactus-covered hills of the desert. I've been overdue for a vacation and I'm a huge fan of the U.S. southwest, so the California desert was a natural choice. I'm coming at ya from Palm Springs, a mecca of mid-century design, great food, great shopping (vintage and consignment design shops everywhere!), and of course, relaxation.
For the next two weeks I'll be sharing a snaps and stories from the desert in addition to my usual posts and giveaways. I hope you enjoy following along and if you're in need of a winter escape, the desert is the place to go. It's warm, dry, has fantastic shopping, friendly people from all over, and it's wonderful for hiking, exploring and kicking back. We just found out the Palm Springs International Film Festival is on right now and Ms. Cate Blanchette herself was here yesterday, so we're definitely planning to take in a few films while we're here.
Here's a few shots from today, hope you enjoy them. Have you been to the desert? Share your stories in the comments!
