From October 30 to November 1, 2015, one of the biggest and most sophisticated parties of the year is hitting the capital: the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival. If you follow me on Instagram you already know I'm a huge fan of both wine and food, so I've been counting the days til the festival. Especially this year.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the show, and it's even bigger and better than ever: we're talking 375,000 wine samples, 110,000 gourmet nibbles, and a quarter million sips of beer handed out to nearly 25,000 visitors. Whoa.
With 200 exhibitors from around the country and around the world, two demonstration stages, and incredible wines, there's going to be plenty to do, see, eat, and drink. A few of the vendors I'm looking forward to the most? Rosewood Estates Winery (from Niagara, and they're such nice folks on Instagram!), Georgian Bay Gin (I already have a bottle but would love some cocktail inspo), and local stars of Dragon's Den (!!!), Split Tree Cocktail Co.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET
For my money, I'd say the best ticket options are the $50 VIP Tasting Floor ticket available for Friday October 30 (dress to impress), and the $50 Haute Halloween ticket available for Saturday October 31 (wear your chicest costume!).
This year your ticket includes even more festival features than before, like:
Anna Olson Baking (from Food Network Canada)
Host For The Holidays (to help you nail your holiday dinners)
In The Mix (seminars on wine, beer, spirits, and mixology)
LCBO Pop Up Store (yes you can take something home with you!)
Complimentary Tasting Glass
GIVEAWAY
I've got tickets to give away! Up for grabs is a pair of VIP tickets to the Friday October 30th edition of the show. FYI, these tickets are for Friday access specifically and cannot be transferred to Saturday.
TO ENTER
2. Like the Amy in 613 Facebook page.
3. Post a comment below telling me what you hope to sample, do, or see at the show.
Contest closes this Friday October 23 at 5:00pm EDT and I'll announce the winner shortly after. That gives you a full week to put together a stylish outfit (after all, this is dress to impress, folks!), or gives you time to buy tickets if you're not the lucky winner.
See you next Friday night at the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival!
UPDATE
We have a winner! A huge congratulations to Brian Tong, who's won two VIP passes to next Friday's edition of the Ottawa Food and Wine Show. Brian, I've sent you details on how to collect your prize, please enjoy and I'll see you next Friday night!
